When founder Josefin was working as a fundraiser for WWF in the streets of Stockholm, Sweden, she was often told by by-passers that she was an aweful person because “humans are meant to work for humans, not animals - animals are not important for the ecosystem”. She decided a new form of communication around animal protection was well needed- this was the birth of the idea that over time and with insights became: “Ecosystem for Impact”. What started out as the JOSEFIN LILJEQVIST brand a purposedriven fashion brand pioneering animal protection, developed with the insights and problems faced when it came to animal traceability and animal protection, grown into something more-something bigger and more impactful. It have grown into a purpose-driven Ecosystem, for impact. Filled by innovation, imagination and science its shared mission to improve global animal protection, within the decade of action .
Overlook
1. According to the World Wide Fund for Nature's 2015 Living Blue Planet report, since 1970, Earth has lost a whopping 49 percent of global marine animal species.
2. Animals in farms killed yearly for food, 70 billions.1,5 billion are cattle. 14,5% of GHG comes from industrial farming (this is more than the entire transportation sector).
3. 80% of global deforestaton comes from industrial farming.
4. Life on earth is dominated by plants – they make up 82% of global biomass. The animal kingdom makes up just 0.4% of global biomass.Humans account for just 0.01% of biomass. However, our livestock outweighs wild mammals and birds ten-fold.

“A solution to one must be a solution for all”
- Ban Ki-Moon
Some numbers, globally:
Human population: 7,8 billion
Daily updates: Worldonmeters.info
Industrial farmed animals killed for food / yearly: 70 billion
Wild Sealiving animals killed for food* / yearly: 790 to 2,300 billion (low calculated is 2,1 billion per day)
Farmed fish killed for food / yearly*: 51 billion to 167 billion
(82 million tons of fish and other marine life were produced globally from aquaculture in 2019)
*Estimating the number of fish killed every day for food is especially difficult, as they are most commonly counted by weight instead of as individuals. They are also not alwasy counted when they are taken up as by catch. Estimates suggest that 63 billion pounds of bycatch are caught every year around the world
Our Solution: A purposeful ecosystem designed to economically benefit animal welfare by a non-human centered apporach for ethical transparency
The former general secretary of UN, Bank Ki-Moon once said “a solution to one must be a solution for all”. And that is our angle on the problem we are passionate about solving, for our animals, the health of our planet, the natural world for this generation but also for all coming generations.
We are quite aware that solving the climate crisis and biodiversity loss is not a one-stop fix. But after over 6 years of looking into animal supply chains, linking farms with B2C clients with our Traceable code (RSiD), one pandemic, and numerous animals being extinct to never return, we have come to the conclusion that on our end it has to be. What we bring to the table of biodiversity loss and climate change is animal protection. Either through products that inspire, educate, and highlight the beauty of the natural world and the art that lives within it or through our first IT- product; Responsible Systems, that links the agriculture and fashion industry into one animal traceability infrastructure.
Today 70 billion animals live within agriculture spread across 570 million farms globally, of that number 50 million of the animals live within factory farming.
Everyone who has ever come close to a farm, having a farm, or just visiting a farm knows the value a good farmer puts on their lands, soils, and not to mention animals. Unfortunately, the trends and data that are being shown clearly show that small family-owned farms, with attention to their animals, lands, and soils are going out of business and larger farms are increasing dramatically. We already know that the economical system must change but this is the time of action and lasting positive change in the entire supply chain. Affecting animals, nature and humans.
We believe the movement must include the following element to succed: A community, An infrastructure and A "close-the-loop".The lack of global animal protection was not cretaed by one thing so the solution can´t tackle the issue from
only one front. No- the solution needs to be as multidisciplaniary as the problem.
For us it comes down to, a fashion brand, a P2P infrastructure for animal supply chains, massive amount of impact work, policy frameworks and a charity.
Welcome to the Ecosystem of Impact.
Happy to have you here. we need you to succeed.
